Drake Acknowledges Kanye West, And Others On Instagram:
Two months after Kayne West said he wouldn’t grant a sample clearance to the former “Degrassi” star, the 10th-anniversary rerelease of Drake’s breakthrough 2009 mixtape, “So Far Gone,” seems to signify a change of heart.
Two months after Kayne West said he wouldn’t grant a sample clearance to the former “Degrassi” star, the 10th-anniversary rerelease of Drake’s breakthrough 2009 mixtape, “So Far Gone,” seems to signify a change of heart.
During a Twitter rant in December, Kayne West shared a screenshot of a text saying that Drake had requested sample clearance for “Say What’s Real,” in which he raps over the beat from Kim Kardashian’s husband’s 2008 track tagged “Say You Will.”
But it seems he changed his mind, as Thursday night saw the digital rerelease of “So Far Gone,” with an unaltered version of “Say What’s Real.”
West’s December tweet came after months of beefing between the two of them, with Drake accusing West of revealing the existence of his son to Pusha T, while Kanye accused the Canadian emcee of trying to hint that something had gone on between him and his wife. While it’s unclear what, if anything, has changed between the two rappers, Drake did thank West in an Instagram post announcing the rerelease.
